What did the crusaders find in the Holy Land?

“What did the crusaders find in the Holy Land?” My uncle asked me one evening while we were out walking to his house on the opposite side of my Great Grandmothers village, “The Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail!?” He laughed at my response, but at the time I had no idea how childish it was…
He showed me clippings of various newspapers and books, “look, it’s all there!”
It was the Plaincourault Chapel, I could not believe it at first, the frescos where of Amanita Muscaria! A very popular mushroom among Russians and especially Siberians, but what was it doing in France on the walls of a former Hospitaller Knights Chapel?

Secret Sacraments

But what role do psychedelics play in religion and spirituality?

I am sure that is what the crusaders would have thought when
they stumbled upon the Secret Sacraments.

In the ancient world psychedelics were used to initiate the
candidates into the Higher Mysteries, once the candidate was
initiated he or she was considered ready to embrace the final
stage of his or her journey, and was believed to be enlightened!
Psychoactive substances, and especially mushrooms, were not only part of the earliest stages of the formation of Judeo-Christianity, but are actually a core part of Christianity’s foundations. Their usage may be seen all the way into more modern times. This fact is evidenced by, but not limited to, artwork such as the Plaincourault.
This theory was first proposed by John M. Allegro, the famous Dead Sea Scrolls scholar and Manchester philologist, who first proposed in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross (SMC), 1970, that Christianity is based on a fertility drug cult. This proposal destroyed his career.

The central teaching of most religions is the essential experience of renunciation, salvation or liberation of the soul from the bondage of time, space, and matter. The need to liberate the spirit of man from this world, in which he is inadvertently bound or cast out into, is no doubt the most prevalent theme in religious texts.

In Abrahamic religions man is cast out of paradise, and in turn seeks to find his way to heaven.
In the religions of the East, man is bound to a cycle of life, death, and rebirth, and in turn seeks to free himself by reaching Moksha or Nirvana (alternate state of being akin to heaven, in some aspects). In many other ancient texts and religions, the world is seen as a prison, from which the spirit of man must escape.

This spiritual wisdom is called Gnosis, it is largely based on a personal experience of the Divine, once experienced, this vision of the one underlying reality behind all that comes to be and passes away cannot be doubted. For to have glimpsed it, if only for a moment, brings the conviction that death itself is an impossibility. The danger is that it introduces you into a world where all action is transcended and in which there can therefore be neither good nor evil. This too is the experience which the Buddhists call Enlightenment.

In Yoga, Gnosis is known as Jnana, which means knowledge, insight, or wisdom, it is a special kind of knowledge which is said to grant liberation.
"Supernatural powers (siddhis) arise from birth, drugs, mantras,
austerity, or yoga (samadhi)."
-Patanjali Yoga Sutram 4. - Kaivalya Pada - About Liberation

"It is only when we come to the first five or six centuries B.C., and to the palmy days of Greece and Alexandria, that we obtain a definite knowledge of the existence of the Mystery Schools, and of some of their more detailed teachings. This period is associated with such names as Anaxagoras, Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and later on,  before the dominance of ecclesiastical Christianity had suppressed the Gnosis, and had plunged the Western world into the darkness and horrors of the Middle Ages, we have such names as Philo Judaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Valentinus, Origen, Proclus, Basilides, Iamblichus, and Plotinus, all speaking openly of the existence of the Mysteries and Mystery Schools, claiming initiation therein, and openly teaching as much of it as it was permitted for them to make public."
-William Kingsland

The ancient Egyptians and Greeks described the "wisdom" that they received within the Mystery Schools (with the use of psychedelics) in a similar manner:

"For among the many excellent and indeed divine institutions which your Athens has brought forth and contributed to human life, none, in my opinion, is better than those mysteries. For by their means we have been brought out of our barbarous and savage mode of life and educated and refined to a state of civilization; and as the rites are called "initiations," so in very truth we have learned from them the beginnings of life, and have gained the power not only to live happily, but also to die with a better hope."
-Cicero

The sages of the past have all spoke about the illusionary nature of the world, and insisted that initiation into the Higher Mysteries granted man the knowledge (Gnosis) to depart from this world in a far favorable state than those who were ignorant to these truths. Similarly the Egyptian and Tibenan Books of the Dead speak of the trials awaiting the dead, and those who have mastered meditation and know themselves have a far greater chance at liberation.

Just as there are many religions, there are also many ways of attaining Gnosis. Throughout history the most common ways were either through mind altering substances, meditation, out of body experiences, and near death experiences. All these paths offered man a glimpse of the world beyond himself, a glimpse of the reality beyond Plato’s Cave.

A gift of Gnosis is no doubt a second birth, it is more precious than all the gold and silver of this world, once this wisdom is attained the sages said that:

"all obscurity will fly from you, and you will be enlightened!"

"In consequence of this divine initiation we became spectators of single and blessed visions, resident in a pure light; and were ourselves made immaculate and liberated from this surrounding garment which we call the body and to which we are now bound like an oyster to its shell."
-Plato

“The purpose of life is to familiarize oneself with this after-death body so that the act of dying will not create confusion in the psyche.”
-Terence Mckenna

"I will abandon all thoughts of fear and terror, I will recognize whatever appears as my projection and know it to be a vision. Now that I have reached this crucial point I will not fear the peaceful and wrathful ones, my own projections."
-Tibetan Book of the Dead

As you follow the little grass trail you come across a little Romanesque chapel of Plaincourault, which was founded between 1110 and 1120 by knights Hospitalers of St-John of Jerusalem. It has been made famous by it's strange frescos, particularly the one with Adam and Eve flanking the Tree of Knowledge, which is none other than an Amanita Muscaria mushroom (commonly known as the Fly Agaric).

"Plaincourault Chapel is a 12th-century chapel of the Knights Hospitaller in Mérigny, Indre, France. The structure, which is located next to the Château de Plaincourault, suffered extensive damage during the French Revolution and was abandoned in 1793. It was declared a historical monument in 1944, but was not restored until the Parc naturel régional de la Brenne took ownership of the property in 1994. The chapel is famous for its unusual Romanesque art, particularly its Christian frescoes. As part of the Château de Plaincourault complex, it is designated by the French Ministry of Culture as a monument historique."

Aside from a brief Wikipedia entry not a lot can be found regarding its history, largely because after it was abandoned by the Knights Hospitalers, who used the chapel for prayer and mass, it lay empty for centuries. Eventually the structure was converted into a barn and used as a storehouse to store hay and beetroots, before it was once again repossessed in the 19th century.
After extensive renovations the chapel has been preserved for a bit longer, and is even open to the public. Its frescos have been largely suppressed until they were brought to light by John M. Allegro, one of the Dead Sea Scrolls scholars and R. Gordon Wasson, a famous ethnomycologist.

A strange mystical feeling arises as one enters the chapel, it is strangely reminiscent of the famous tapestry of the Attainment or The Achievement of the Grail.
It was then when I was initiated into this mystery and was given all the proper keys.
Aside from the more popular fresco of the Tree of Knowledge as the giant mushroom there are other frescos here as well, the one beside it is of Virgin Mary and baby Christ in majesty, surrounded by an almond-shape (mandorle in French). There are also frescos of the crucifixion, saint Eloi performing miracles, and even a scene from the famous medieval novel, the Roman de Renart.

The strange frescos are by far not the end of it, new light is being shed on the origins of Christianity and the Serapeum Codices, which themselves reveal that Secret Sacraments and Magic Mushrooms have played a far bigger role in religion than people realize. The knights Hospitalers must have simply re-discovered the ancient wisdom of the pagans, that the Church tried so hard to stump out.

A few of my family hairlooms are a collection of ancient kabbalistic texts which coincidently tie everything together with the Plaincourault Chapel and what the Hospitaller Knights found in the Holy Land, they are very old texts which have been harshly suppressed by the Church. One of them is a highly coveted text among the kabbalists and priests and it is practicly impossible to find it anywhere else, here is a brief summery of the first manuscript, which is an introduction to the second one which I will include after:

“Seth was given a branch from the same tree that Adam and Eve ate of, and he brought it to his father Adam, who once again used it to open his eyes. Seth also instructed Enoch of its origin and use, and according to other manuscripts he planted three seeds in Adam’s mouth when he died, “from these grew the burning bush which God used to talk to Moses, who made his magic wand from part of it. This wand was placed in the Ark of the Covenant and was planted by King David on Mount Zion, where it grew into a triple tree which was cut down by Solomon to construct the pillars of Jachin and Boaz at the entrance to the Temple in Jerusalem. Another portion was inserted into the threshold of the great gate and permitted no unclean thing to enter the sanctuary. It was, however, removed by some wicked priests, weighted down by stones and thrown into the Temple reservoir, where it was hidden and guarded by an angel. During Christ's lifetime the reservoir was drained and the piece of wood found and used as a bridge across the brook of Kedron, over which Jesus passed after his arrest on the Mount of Olives. It was then made into the cross on which he was crucified. The legend that the cross was ultimately made from the Tree of Knowledge was common in the Middle Ages and has similarities to the Holy Grail legend."

The Serapeum Codices  Book I.

Adam said unto Seth: My son, this was not our dwelling place; this was the dwelling of the wild beasts and animals; but our dwelling place was in Eden, towards the east, in the Garden. For God created us, and put us in Paradise, and commanded us of which fruit we should eat and of which we should eat not; but we kept not his commandment; so we were robbed of the Divine glory and were sent out the of Garden.

And Seth, the son of consolation, hearing such things from his father, considered them; and he went away, and for forty days and forty nights he did neither eat bread nor drink water. And in his prayer he said unto the Lord: Almighty, all-powerful Lord, hear favorably my prayer. And in the meantime he saw an angel coming and holding in his hand a branch of joy; and he gave it unto Seth, saying : This is thy father's consolation. And Seth returned thanks unto Christ, the Giver of life, who granted and fulfilled his prayer favorably.

According to an old Rabbi legend, an angel gave Adam the mysteries and secrets of Kabbalah and of Alchemy, promising that when the human race understand these inspired arts, the curse of the forbidden fruit would be removed and man will again enter into the Garden of Eden.
And Seth took the branch and brought it unto Adam, his father, saying: Father, this comes from thy dwelling place. And Adam took the branch, and put it upon his eyes; and his eyes were opened, and he looked and saw that the branch was from that tree from which he tasted death. And he said unto his son: Seth, my son; this branch is from that tree, of which the Lord commanded us to eat not. And Seth said unto his father: Father, know that as it caused death, so it giveth life, and even has given light. And Adam offered thanks unto God, and also blessed Seth, his son; and according to the command of the Lord, he returned unto dust, out of which he was created.

And some time afterwards, Seth repeated these same words unto Enoch , saying: Adam, my father, said that this dwelling was not ours, but it was the dwelling of the wild beasts and of other creatures, and our dwelling was in Eden, towards the east. And when God created our father. He put him in the Garden, and commanded him of which fruit he should eat and of which he should not eat. But not having kept His commandment, he was deprived of the Divine light, and expelled from the Garden, and became equal to the brutes. And Enoch considered this thing, and for forty days and forty nights he tasted nothing. And thereafter he planted a beautiful garden, and put in it all kinds of fruitful trees. And he lived in that garden five hundred and forty-two years, after which he was taken up into heaven with his body, and obtained the Divine glory and light.

Oral traditions have often played tremendous roles in providing the nesscessary keys to interpret the written texts, sometimes only a few words will sufice to unlock the whole book. This has been a part of an oral tradition, passed generation to generation, and now it is passed to you. What you choose to do with it is entirely up to you…

“I will tell you that the Sacred Tree is still with us to this day, and all the male children who are joined in the covenant unto God Most High bare its mark after the line of Abraham. Any who partake of its fruit, their eyes shall be opened, it is a consolation unto the righteous and chastisement unto the wicked.”

It might seem pretty incredible to some but the “mark after the line of Abraham” is circumcision! It ultimately connects the worshipper with God through affinity with the Fruit of the Tree. It is nothing more than Sympathetic Magic, as it was practiced by many different cultures around the world.

Sympathetic Magic is one of the most powerful forms of magic according to the Shaman, but what does it have to do with circumcision and mushrooms? Since ancient times the shaman tried to emulate the Divine as best as he could in his or her work, weather it was costumes, ritual items, or totems.

The use of mind altering substances for spiritual purposes goes back beyond the earliest written records, all the way to the primitive scribbles on the cave walls.

The use of mind altering substances like mushrooms is common to all of the ancient civilizations if you look closely, every one of them from the ancient Sumerians to the Greeks, and so much more!

Before Judaism Sin was a Mesopotamian god of the Moon, who was also commonly designated as En-zu, which means "lord of wisdom."
What else is associated with the moon but mushrooms and wisdom?!

There is an interesting fragment from the Epic of Gilgamesh which describes the worlds oldest know religious ritual, which I will include here because it has many striking similarities with later religious traditions:

"The priestess said to him, said to Enkidu:
'Come, Enkidu! Let us go to the place of the sheepfold'.
She drew out a single garment
And he clothed himself.
Leading him, she held his hand,
And like a god was his countenance.
She led him to the place of the sheepfold,
The shepherds/people were gathered together...
...They set bread before him
He examined it and was puzzled by the bread.
They set beer before him.
He creased his eyes together and gazed at it;
He was puzzled by the beer.
The priestess said to him,

Said to Enkidu:
'Eat the bread, Enkidu,
That you will be worthy of godliness!
Drink the fine beer,
That you will be worthy of kingship!'
Enkidu ate the bread,
He drank the fine beer,
And indeed seven jugs of it.

He felt so free, he felt so happy
He rejoiced so in his heart!
His face became radiant.
He rubbed all the shaggy growth,
The hair of his body.
He annointed himself with oil
And thus he became a man.
He donned clothing -
Look! He is like a man!
He takes up his weapon,
He attacks the lions
So the shepherds might have peace at night.
He caught wolves,
He captured lions,
And the chief cattlemen could rest.
Enkidu was their watchman,
A man of strength,
An unparalled hero!"

What does all this have to do with circumcision and mushrooms? Lets start from the beginning!

"And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all."
-Genesis 14:18-20

“The earliest historical record of circumcision comes from Egypt, in the form of an image of the circumcision of an adult carved into the tomb of Ankh-Mahor at Saqqara, dating to about 2400–2300 BCE. Circumcision was done by the Egyptians possibly for hygienic reasons, but also was part of their obsession with purity and was associated with spiritual and intellectual development. No well-accepted theory explains the significance of circumcision to the Egyptians, but it appears to have been endowed with great honor and importance as a rite of passage into adulthood, performed in a public ceremony emphasizing the continuation of family generations and fertility. It may have been a mark of distinction for the elite: the Egyptian Book of the Dead describes the sun god Ra as having circumcised himself.”

"Osiris is an Egyptian god, identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld, and the dead, but more appropriately as the god of transition, resurrection, and regeneration. He was classically depicted as a green-skinned deity with a pharaoh's beard, partially mummy-wrapped at the legs, wearing a distinctive crown with two large ostrich feathers at either side, and holding a symbolic crook and flail."
"Osiris was considered not only a merciful judge of the dead in the afterlife, but also the underworld agency that granted all life, including sprouting vegetation and the fertile flooding of the Nile River. He was described as the "Lord of love", "He Who is Permanently Benign and Youthful" and the "Lord of Silence". The Kings of Egypt were associated with Osiris in death – as Osiris rose from the dead they would, in union with him, inherit eternal life through a process of imitative magic. By the New Kingdom all people, not just pharaohs, were believed to be associated with Osiris at death, if they incurred the costs of the assimilation rituals."

What were these rituals and how can they reveal Osiris's symbolic nature as the Divine Mushroom?

Now you may wonder what this has to do with the Fruit of the Tree and circumcision, so I will expand on it further. In the ancient Egyptian mythology concerning Osiris, he is cut into pieces by his brother Set. Isis attempts to bring Osiris back to life but is unable to find Osiris’s missing phallus, which she manufactured (the golden phallus) and around which the Egyptians eventually established a cult and a festival. However because she had to use her magic to restore his phallus (the sublime secret of the High Priests), he was not entirely complete and had to remain as the ruler of the underworld.
Osiris’s penis is nothing more than the same mushroom reference described previously, which eventually grew out of the cakes of this "divine bread" described by the Egyptians.

In ancient Egyptian mythology concerning Osiris and the Osirism, also known as the mysteries of Osiris or Osirian mysteries, was a mystery religion which practiced annual initiation rituals for the cult of Osiris. These ceremonies were fertility rites which symbolized the resurrection of Osiris. E.A. Wallis Budge stated "Osiris is closely connected with the germination of wheat; the grain which is put into the ground is the dead Osiris, and the grain which has germinated is the Osiris who has once again renewed his life."

"Contrasting with the public "theatrical" ceremonies sourced from the I-Kher-Nefert stele (from the Middle Kingdom), more esoteric ceremonies were performed inside the temples by priests witnessed only by chosen initiates. Plutarch mentions that (for much later period) two days after the beginning of the festival "the priests bring forth a sacred chest containing a small golden coffer, into which they pour some potable water...and a great shout arises from the company for joy that Osiris is found (or resurrected). Then they knead some fertile soil with the water...and fashion therefrom a crescent-shaped figure, which they cloth and adorn, this indicating that they regard these gods as the substance of Earth and Water." (Isis and Osiris, 39). Yet his accounts were still obscure, for he also wrote, "I pass over the cutting of the wood" - opting not to describe it, since he considered it as a most sacred ritual (Ibid. 21)."

Where Plutarch left off I will continue and describe the rest of the ritual in great detail (as it is still practiced in remote corners of the world).
Furthermore In the Osirian temple at Denderah, an inscription (translated by Budge, Chapter XV, Osiris and the Egyptian Resurrection) describes in detail the making of wheat paste models of each dismembered piece of Osiris to be sent out to the town where each piece is discovered by Isis. At the temple of Mendes, figures of Osiris were made from wheat and paste placed in a trough on the day of the murder, then water was added for several days, until finally the mixture was kneaded into a mold of Osiris and taken to the temple to be buried (the sacred grain for these cakes were grown only in the temple fields). Molds were made from the wood of a red tree in the forms of the sixteen dismembered parts of Osiris, the cakes of 'divine' bread were made from each mold, placed in a silver chest and set near the head of the god with the inward parts of Osiris as described in the Book of the Dead (XVII). All of these sacred rituals were "climaxed by the eating of sacramental god, the Eucharist by which the celebrants were transformed, in their persuasion, into replicas of their god-man" (Larson 20) similar to the rituals of the Catholic and Christian churches to this day.

Osiris is often portrayed as a pillar / coffin from which an Ankh is protruding.

This illustrates the wheat paste (Osiri's dead body) which is the reborn substrate from which Osiris's phallus eventually grew out of - the Divine Mushroom!
This ritual is not only common to ancient Egypt but to other civilizations as well. Consider the story of Shiva, the Shiva Linaga Stone, and the Divine Soma in Hinduism. Furthermore it was heavily copied by the Greeks and Romans (in their mystery schools) and even Moses and the Israelite's in the wilderness (Unleavened Bread, Golden Calf, and Manna are just some esoteric references within Kabbalah). It was likewise copied by the early Christians, Gnostics, and even some monastic orders from the crusades such as the Hospitaller Knights (Body and Blood of Christ), and even the Vatican as we will see further.
With time these rituals were suppressed because they empowered the individual rather than the Church, the Divine Mushroom was eventually replaced with a wafer and everyone who was familiar with the workings of nature was prosecuted and killed by the Inquisition.
Similarly the Ankh and the Shiva Lingam are usually composed of the Vulva / Yoni (Sanskrit word, literally "origin" or "source" or "womb") and the Phallus / Lingam (a symbol of divine generative energy). This composition forms the Divine Union, which in turn represents the Axis Mundi, the Divine center of Heaven and Earth, or a gateway which connects the two (Jacobs Ladder).
We are told by the ancient Vedic sages a story which is mentioned in different scriptures and, as usual, with some variations.

"Shiva’s first wife had died and in his incredible sadness, he was roaming around restlessly, wandering alone in a pine forest, naked and like a madman.
In that forest, there lived many rishis – which are holy men with special powers called Siddhis. They had wives, too, and while Shiva was wandering around like that, these women saw him. They could not hold onto themselves when they watched him walking by naked, his divine body in full display. They ran after him, admired him and finally started touching and hugging him.
As luck would have it, just in that time, their husbands, the rishis, came by as well. Seeing their wives in close embrace with Shiva, they got very angry, accusing him of immorality. They combined their powers and cursed Shiva's penis, saying it should be cut off and fall down at the spot!
No matter how exactly it happened, the penis fell down to earth and where it fell, it stood erected and started burning like wildfire. Wherever it went – my wife asked how it ‘went’ but I cannot exactly tell you – it caused inferno and chaos. Bad things started happening in the world, as if the earth’s last day had arrived. Mountains burst, fire was spilling everywhere and people were in panic. Had the world come to its end? Everyone started pleading with him and praying: ‘Please, take your penis back, it is destroying the world!’
Shiva was appeased by all these prayers and agreed, but with one condition: ‘Only if you start worshipping my penis, will I take it back!’
And that is how Shiva Lingams were installed across the earth in temples everywhere and the worship of Shiva’s penis started.
There are some of you who think that this is a joke? No, it is not – and you may also enjoy the following variation:
In this version of the story, Shiva was already married to his second wife Parvati. He was nevertheless running around in the forest naked – not out of grief, just because he felt like it – and encountered the rishi’s wives. They could not withstand the power of his attraction and hugged him. Their husbands were not amused and cursed his penis, which promptly fell down, causing chaos and apocalyptic conditions all over the world.

Everyone got together in crisis to find a solution. Who could catch Shiva’s penis and hold on to it? Where should it go once captured? Oh yes, once the saving idea was found, it was very clear: only Parvati would be able to hold Shiva’s penis, in her vagina!
They all prayed to Parvati and that’s how it was done: from that time on, Shiva Lingam was worshipped, erect and fixed in the vagina. "
-Swami Balendu

At first glance it seems like a very peculiar tale, until we examine it closely, it is not truly a phallus that is worshiped but a Sacred Mushroom, the Divine Soma plant. Our first clue comes from the “pine forest,” pine trees are favorite host trees to the Fly Agaric and other mushrooms. Next if we examine Shiva’s color symbolism, it will make more sense.

In other versions of the tale Shiva is replaced with Rudra, who’s connection with the Fly Agaric is even more striking. Some even stating that he was covered with ashes (spores), and his penis was decorated with red and white chalk.

In some countries certain psychedelic mushrooms are still called "Penis Envy." Furthermore the natural world is usually composed of male and female polarities, however a mushroom in itself is a Divine Union, the Divine Gateway between the Heaven and Earth.

Before we continue let us examine a brief Timeline of Mushroom Use in History.
Timeline of Mushroom Use in History.
Hallucinogenic mushrooms have been part of human culture as far back as the earliest recorded history. Ancient paintings of mushroom-ed humanoids dating to 5,000 B.C. have been found in caves on the Tassili plateau of Northern Algeria. Central and Southern America cultures built temples to mushroom gods and carved "mushroom stones". These stone carvings in the shape of mushrooms, or in which figures are depicted under the cap of a mushroom, have been dated to as early as 1000-500 B.C. The purpose of the sculptures is not certain, but they may have been religious objects.
  • 5000-3000 BCE : The earliest evidence of Amanita muscaria use as an intoxicant is based on linguistic analysis of languages from northern Asia. Around 4000 BCE, the Uralic language split into two branches, both of which contain similar root words for inebriation. In some of these languages the root "pang" signifies both 'intoxicated' and the A. muscaria mushroom. These linguistic similarities suggest (but do not prove) that A. muscaria was known to be intoxicating before the languages split around 4000 BCE.

  • 1000-2000 BCE: Petroglyphs along the Pegtymel River which drains into the Arctic Ocean in north eastern Siberia "depict anthropomorphic figures with mushrooms appended to their heads."2 The Pegtymel river area is currently inhabited by the modern Chukchi culture who are known to have used A. muscaria as a traditional inebriant. Possible use of magic mushrooms among the ancient Egyptians and other neighboring countries.

  • 500-0 BCE: Rg Veda hymns, a set of sacred stories from India, include mentions of a magical intoxicant called Soma. In 1968, R. Gordon Wasson published the controversial book Soma: Divine Mushroom of Immortality, speculating that Soma refers to Amanita muscaria.

  • 100 AD: 7.5 cm high miniature statue of an Amanita muscaria dated to 100 AD found in Nayarit, Mexico, suggests A. muscaria may have been in use in coastal Mexico. Many other sculptures from Central and South America depict the ritual use of other psychoactive plants and mushrooms.
  • 0 - 1800 AD: Some Scandivian historians believe that Viking 'Bezerker Warriors' ingested Amanita muscaria before going into battle. Wasson writes
"No one who discusses the fly agaric in Europe can ignore the debate that has been carried on for almost two centuries in Scandinavia on this issue. First Samuel Odman in 1784 and then Frederik Christian Schubeler in 1886 propounded the thesis that those Viking warriors knows as 'beserks' ate the fly-agaric before they 'went beserk'; in short, that 'beserk-raging' was deliberately caused by the ingestion of our spotted amanita."
The Mixtec culture of central Mexico worshipped many gods, one known as Piltzintecuhtli, or 7 Flower (his name presented in the pictoral language as seven circles and a flower) who was the god for hallucinatory plants, especially the divine mushroom. The Vienna Codex (or Codex Vindobonensis) (ca 13th-15th century) depicts the ritual use of mushrooms by the Mixtec gods, showing Piltzintecuhtli and 7 other gods holding mushrooms in their hands.

The Aztec people had a closely related god of sacred psychoactive plants. Xochipilli, Prince of Flowers, was the divine patron of "the flowery dream" as the Aztecs called the ritual hallucinatory trance. The Aztecs used a number of plant hallucinogens including psilocybian mushrooms (teonanácatl), morning glory seeds (tlilitzin), Salvia divinorum, Datura (tlapatl or toloache) , Peyote (peyotl), and mixitl grain. Psilocybian mushrooms were used in ritual and ceremony, served with honey or chocolate at some of their holiest events.

With Cortez's defeat of the Aztecs in 1521, the Europeans began to forbid the use of non-alcohol intoxicants, including sacred mushrooms, and the use of teonanácatl ('wondrous mushroom', or 'flesh of the gods') was driven underground.

In the mid 16th century, Spanish priest Bernardino de Sahagún wrote of the use of hallucinogenic mushrooms by the Aztecs in his Florentine Codex :

"The first thing to be eaten at the feast were small black mushrooms that they called nanacatl and bring on drunkenness, hallucinations and even lechery; they ate these before the dawn...with honey; and when they began to feel the effects, they began to dance, some sang and others wept... When the drunkenness of the mushrooms had passed, they spoke with one another of the visions they had seen."
  • 1291 AD: Fresco in Plaincourault Abbey in Indre, France depicts Adam and Eve standing beside a Tree of Knowledge which bears a striking resemblance to an Amanita muscaria mushroom.
*Other locations are found over time and can be read about in greater detail in these books:

  • The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross
  • The Psychedelic Gospels
By now you no doubt  see that mushrooms have played an important part in almost all of the cultures around the world, and have been extensivly used for spiritual purposes.
"For the way to God and the fleeting view of heaven was through plants more plentifully endued
with the sperm of God than any other. These were the drug-herbs, the science of whose
cultivation and use had been accumulated over centuries of observation and dangerous
experiment. Those who had this secret wisdom of the plants were the chosen of their god; to them
alone had he vouchsafed the privilege of access to the heavenly throne. And if he was jealous of
his power, no less were those who served him in the cultic mysteries. Theirs was no gospel to be
shouted from the rooftops: Paradise was for none but the favoured few. The incantations and rites
by which they conjured forth their drug plants, and the details of the bodily and mental
preparations undergone before they could ingest their god, were the secrets of the cult to which
none but the initiate bound by fearful oaths, had access."
-John M. Allegro / Dead Sea Scroll Scholar

"The mushroom has always been a thing of mystery. The ancients were puzzled by its manner of
growth without seed, the speed with which it made its appearance after rain, and its as rapid
disappearance. Born from a volva or "egg" it appears like a small penis, raising itself like the
human organ sexually aroused, and when it spread wide its canopy the old botanists saw it as a
phallus bearing the "burden" of a woman's groin. Every aspect of the mushroom's existence was
fraught with sexual allusions, and in its phallic form the ancients saw a replica of the fertility god himself.
It was the "son of God", its drug was a purer form of the god's own spermatozoa than that
discoverable in any other form of living matter. It was, in fact, God himself, manifest on earth. To
the mystic it was the divinely given means of entering heaven; God had come down in the flesh to
show the way to himself."

What do you Think the Crusaders Found in the Holy Land?
Could it be that the crusaders found out about the Secret Sacraments?
If we dig further we come just to such a conclusion, all we have to do is follow the facts.

"And the eyes of them both were opened..."
"Adam and Eve with serpent-entwined Psilocybe mushroom (caduceus). Italy [Abbey of Montecassino]; circa 1072 - British Library.”
We know that Templar Knight headquarters was located at the palace on the Temple Mound in Jerusalem, from there what would the crusaders have found in the Holy Land but historical records and religious texts?! (Maybe they even read my family hairloom texts as well?! It would not be too farfetched as some of my family members are descendents of the tribe of Levi).
Residing on the very place where Solomon is said to have built his temple, the Templars no doubt would have wanted to know the origins of their faith and what exactly went on at the temple during those times.

So what did go on at the temple during those times?

It is likely that the crusaders have discovered a different Gospel than the one they expacted...
A simple inquery on the history of the Communion, the Eucharist, or the Unleavened Bread would have led the crusaders on a very interesting search through the records kept at the Temple Mound, no doubt they would have found the same thing that I did...
Now if I was a crusader looking through records regarding treasures that could have been kept at the temple, I would have no doubt found out about the Ark of the Covenant, the Ten Comandments, Aarons Rod
...and finaly a Pot of Manna!
"And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat."

...but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank...

...and when the sun waxed hot, it melted...."
-Exodus 16:14-15 and 20-21
"Then ye shall know that the Lord hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:

And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord; for that he heareth your murmurings against the Lord: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?"
-Exodus 16:6-7
Here "glory" is a technical / theological term that describes the visible form of God in dreams and prophetic visions, stating that after the Isrelites will eat Manna, they will see Gods glory.

"And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:"
-Isaiah 30:20
In Exodus 16:32 Moses said that God told him to keep an omer of Manna on display for all, yet in the following few verses (Exodus 16:33-34) Moses instructs Aaron to put it only where the high priests could go.

"And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt."

"And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations.
As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept."

Did Moses deliberetly hide Manna from the people against God's instructions?

Looking throught historical documents, which might have themselves passed throught the hands of the Templar and Hospitaller Knights, I came upon a tenth century BCE., document which advocated public knowledge and use of Manna.  However in the late eight century as part of Hezekiahs reformation, Manna was restricted and was used only by the priesthoods.
According to Joshua 5:11-12 after the first Passover in Cannan Unleavened Bread was substituted for the Manna.

"And the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate of the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and parched grain.
And the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year."
There are many descriptions of mushroom use in the Bible, especially among the prophets of God.
"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LordGod of hosts."
-Jeremiah 15:16

"Since it was given to few men to be able to visit heaven or hell and return to tell what they had seen and heard, there arose the ideas of "messengers", or angels, those "workers of miracles" as their name in Greek and Hebrew means.  These demigods, or heroes, had access to both worlds and play an important part in ancient mythology. They could come from above in various guises or be conjured up from the ground, like the ghost of Samuel drawn to the surface by the witch of Endor for consultation by King Saul (I Sam 28). One important aspect of this idea of heavenly and subterranean founts of knowledge is that since plants and trees had their roots beneath the soil and derived their nourishment from the water above and beneath the earth, it was thought possible that some varieties of vegetation could give their mortal consumers access to this wisdom. Herein lies the philosophical justification for believing that hallucinatory drugs distilled from such plants imparted divine secrets, or "prophecies"."

Since the begining of time man has used mind altering substances, especially psychedelic mushrooms for religious and spiritual purposes.
"ADAM was the first inventor of arts, because he had knowledge of all things as well after the Fall as before. Thence he predicted the world's destruction by water. From this cause, too, it came about that his successors erected two tables of stone, on which they engraved all natural arts in hieroglyphical characters, in order that their posterity might also become acquainted with this prediction, that so it might be heeded, and provision made in the time of danger. Subsequently, Noah found one of these tables under Mount Araroth, after the Deluge. In this table were described the courses of the upper firmament and of the lower globe, and also of the planets. At length this universal knowledge was divided into several parts, and lessened in its vigour and power. By means of this separation, one man became an astronomer, another a magician, another a cabalist, and a fourth an alchemist. Abraham, that Vulcanic Tubalcain, a consummate astrologer and arithmetician, carried the Art out of the land of Canaan into Egypt, whereupon the Egyptians rose to so great a height and dignity that this wisdom was derived from them by other nations. The patriarch Jacob painted, as it were, the sheep with various colours; and this was done by magic: for in the theology of the Chaldeans, Hebrews, Persians, and Egyptians, they held these arts to be the highest philosophy, to be learnt by their chief nobles and priests. So it was in the time of Moses, when both thc priests and also thc physicians were chosen from among the Magi ' the priests for the judgment of what related to health, especially in the knowledge of leprosy. Moses, likewise, was instructed in the Egyptian schools, at the cost and care of Pharaoh's daughter, so that he excelled in all the wisdom and learning of that people. Thus, too, was it with Daniel, who in his youthful days imbibed the learning of the Chaldeans, so that he became a cabalist. Witness his divine predictions and his exposition of those words, "Mene, Mene, Tecelphares". These words can be understood by the prophetic and cabalistic Art. This cabalistic Art was perfectly familiar to, and in constant use by, Moses and the Prophets. The Prophet Elias foretold many things by his cabalistic numbers. So did the Wise Men of old, by this natural and mystical Art, learn to know God rightly. They abode in His laws, and walked in His statutes with great firmness. It is also evident in the Book of Samuel, that the Berelists did not follow the devil's part, but became, by Divine permission, partakers of visions and veritable apparitions, whereof we shall treat more at large in the Book of Supercelestial Things3. This gift is granted by the Lord God to those priests who walk in the Divine precepts. It was a custom among the Persians never to admit any one as king unless he were a Wise Man, pre-eminent in reality as well as in name. This is clear from the customary name of their kings; for they were called Wise Men. Such were those Wise Men and Persian Magi who came from the East to seek out thc Lord Jesus, and are called natural priests. The Egyptians, also, having obtained this magic and philosophy from the Chaldeans and Persians, desired that their priests should learn the same wisdom; and they became so fruitful and successful therein that all the neighbouring countries admired them. For this reason Hermes was so truly named Trismegistus, because he was a king, a priest, a prophet, a magician, and a sophist of natural things. Such another was Zoroaster."
-Paracelsus

The shaman of old was initiated into the Higher Mysteries of Nature, over time the shaman has become a Druid, High Priest, Rabbi, Pope, Pastor, Warden, etc. and likewise over time the Higher Mysteries became slowly deluded as we drift further away from nature, secret sacraments became waffers, spirituality became religion, and in such a manner man has fallen further and further out of sync with not only the Divine Way of Nature, but also the Self.
"The Chaldeans, Persians, and Egyptians had all of them the same knowledge of the secrets of Nature, and also the same religion. It was only the names that differed. The Chaldeans and Persians called their doctrine Sophia and Magic; and the Egyptians, because of the sacrifice, called their wisdom priestcraft. The magic of the Persians, and the theology of the Egyptians, were both of them taught in the schools of old. Though there were many schools and learned men in Arabia, Africa, and Greece, such as Albumazar, Abenzagel, Geber, Rhasis, and Avicenna among the Arabians; and among the Greeks, Machaon, Podalirius, Pythagoras, Anaxagoras, Democritus, Plato, Aristotle, and Rhodianus; still there were different opinions amongst them as to the wisdom of the Egyptian on points wherein they themselves differed, and whereupon they disagreed with it. For this reason Pythagoras could not be called a wise man, because the Egyptian priestcraft and wisdom were not perpectly taught, although he received therefrom many mysteries and arcana; and that Anaxagoras had received a great many as well, is clear from his discussions on the subject of Sol and its Stone, which he left behind him after his death. Yet he differed in many respects from the Egyptians. Even they would not be called wise men or Magi; but, following Pythagoras, they assumed the name of philosophy: yet they gathered no more than a few gleams like shadows from the magic of the Persians and the Egyptians."
-Paracelsus

"Many persons have endeavoured to investigate and make use of the secret magic of these wise men; but it has not yet been accomplished. Many even of our own age exalt Trithemius, others Bacon and Agrippa, for magic and the cabala ' two things apparently quite distinct ' not knowing why they do so. Magic, indeed, is an art and faculty whereby the elementary bodies, their fruits, properties, virtues, and hidden operations are comprehended. But the cabala, by a subtle understanding of the Scriptures, seems to trace out the way to God for men, to shew them how they may act with Him, and prophesy from Him; for the cabala is full of divine mysteries, even as Magic is full of natural secrets. It teaches of and foretells from the nature of things to come as well as of things present, since its operation consists in knowing the inner constitution of all creatures, of celestial as well as terrestrial bodies: what is latent within them; what are their occult virtues; for what they were originally designed, and with what properties they are endowed. These and the like subjects are the bonds wherewith things celestial are bound up with things of the earth, as may sometimes be seen in their operation even with the bodily eyes. Such a conjunction of celestial influences, whereby the heavenly virtues acted upon inferior bodies, was formerly called by the Magi a Gamahea, or the marriage of the celestial powers and properties with elementary bodies. Hence ensued the excellent commixtures of all bodies, celestial and terrestrial, namely, of the sun and planets, likewise vegetables, minerals, and animals."
-Paracelsus

"The Arabs and Greeks, by the occult characters and hieroglyphic descriptions of the Persians and the Egyptians, attained to secret and abstruse mysteries. When these were obtained and partially understood they saw with their own eyes, in the course of experimenting, many wonderful and strange effects. But since the supercelestial operations lay more deeply hidden than their capacity could penetrate, they did not call this a supercelestial arcanum according to the institution of the Magi, but the arcanum of the Philosophers' Stone according to the counsel and judgment of Pythagoras. Whoever obtained this Stone overshadowed it with various enigmatical figures, deceptive resemblances, comparisons, and fictitious titles, so that its matter might remain occult. Very little or no knowledge of it therefore can be had from them."
-Paracelsus

"A certain matter rises out of the philosophical earth, as if it were a thicket of branches and sprouts: like a sponge growing on the earth. They say, therefore, that the fruit of their tree tends towards heaven."
-Paracelsus

"These peculiar objects , one of which was found in an E-III-3 tomb, are of unknown use. Some see vaguely phallic association. Others, such as the late Stephan de Borhegyi, connect them with the cult of the hallucinogenic mushrooms still to this day prevalent in the Mexican highlands, and it is claimed that the mortars and pestles with which the stones are so often associated were used in the preparatory rites" (The Maya, 1993 fifth edition, by M.D. Coe, p. 60).

"Vitriol is a very noble mineral among the rest, and was held always in highest estimation by philosophers, because the Most High God has adorned it with wonderful gifts. They have veiled its arcanum in enigmatical figures like the following: "Thou shalt go to the inner parts of the earth, and by rectification thou shalt find the occult stone, a true medicine". By the earth they understood the Vitriol itself; and by the inner parts of the earth its sweetness and redness, because in the occult part of the Vitriol lies hid a subtle, noble, and most fragrant juice, and a pure oil."
-Paracelsus

“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed themselves out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”
-Jeremiah 2:13
"In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again..."
Let us see just how far this truly extends!
It goes a lot deeper!...
A lot of the work connecting the Fleur de Lis has been largely done by Carl de Borhegyi, who wrote How the Symbol of the Fleur de Lis Changed the Course of New World History, and Hidden in Plain Sight.
This much is generally accepted history. The Aztec Emperor Moctezuma II believed in a prophecy. According to ancient legend, the Aztecs expected their god Quetzalcoatl, who had departed their land many years earlier, to return to his people on the anniversary of his birth date. Such an event had been foretold by the Aztec priests. According to their divinations the "Children of the Sun, would come from the east to cast down their god and to annihilate the Aztec nation" (Diego Duran 1964, The Aztecs: p.139). Their returning god would be white-skinned, would have a black beard and would be dressed in black (Alma Reed, 1966 p.140).  This date was known as Ce Acatl (1-Reed) in the Aztec calendar. When that date fell in  the year 1519 in the European calendar, the deeply religious Aztec emperor was primed for a special event. In one of history's amazing coincidences, that event turned out to be the arrival of the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortés and his army on the shores of Mexico.
Shortly after Cortés landed his ships in 1519 he laid claim to the new land in the name of the King of Spain. There to meet him were emissaries sent by the emperor Moctezuma to advise him whether these strange newcomers were in fact gods or ordinary mortals. Apparently Cortés passed the test because he was allowed to advance inland to the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan proudly carrying his banner with an image of the Virgin Mary wearing a crown emblazoned with Fleur de Lis symbols.
Maybe the most important clue as to the identification of Cortés as the embodiment of Quetzalcoatl, comes to us from a foot soldier in Cortés army named Bernal Díaz del Castillo. Diaz has left us an account of the first fateful meeting of the two cultures. In it he writes that the Aztecs were understandably suspicious of the strange light-skinned and bearded newcomers. But after Moctezuma saw a certain symbol on the helmet of the Spanish soldiers, he believed beyond doubt that Cortés was the embodiment of their true lord Quetzalcoatl and  the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Portrait of Hernando Cortés 1529, dressed in all black attire, and holding his shield emblazoned with three Fleur de lis symbols. (Weiditz Trachtenbuch).
Above is the famous 16th century banner of the Virgin Mary that was carried by Cortés inhis triumphant entry into the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, wearing a crown emblazoned with the Fleur de Lis symbol. The banner of the Virgin Mary with Fleur de lis symbols now resides in the Natural History Museum, Chapultepec Castle, Mexico City.
Here is Diaz' first-hand account of that   fateful meeting of Cortés and the Aztec emperor Motecusuma :

"One of our men had on a casque, (a conquistador helmet) which was partly gilt.... Teuthlille, [general of the Mexican empire, also spelled Teudile]  who was much more enlightened than any of his companions, remarked, when his eye fell upon it, that it bore a great resemblance to a casque which belonged to their most ancient forefathers, and now adorned the head of their warrior-god Huitzilopochtli.  Motecusuma, he further added, would certainly be uncommonly pleased if he could likewise see this casque".
"Cortés, on hearing this, ordered the casque  to be presented to him, thereby expressing the wish, that he should like to satisfy himself that the gold of this country was similar to what we find in our rivers. If they would send him the casque full of gold dust, he would send it to our great emperor. Upon this Teuthlille took leave of Cortés and all of us, promising to return speedily, while Cortés, under the most tender of embraces, made him every profession of friendship".
"After this personage had taken his departure, we learnt that he was not merely a distinguished statesman, but also the most nimble pedestrian at Motecusuma's court. He did, indeed, use the utmost expedition to bring his monarch information, and hand over to him the paintings and presents. The great Motecusuma was vastly astonished at everything he heard and saw, and yet he was pleased. But, when at last he espied the casque, and compared it with that of the idol Huitzilopochtli, he no longer doubted for an instant that we belonged to that people, whom his forefathers had prophesied would, one time or other, come and subdue the country".

Unfortunately for history Bernal Diaz never described the symbol displayed on the conquistador's helmet, but it is  highly likely that the symbol that so impressed Moctezuma, and the Tlaxcalteca lord, Xicotencatl, was the Fleur de lis.
Perhaps this explains how a small group of Spaniards was able to infiltrate and destroy a whole empire...

Following these clues I decided to look further...
I have been studying the lives of some enigmatic explorers and their search for the Grail, the Fountain of Youth, El Dorado, and even Shambhala.
Ponce de Leon lead me to the Fountain of Youth and eventually from there I discovered other connections which eventually lead me to El Dorado.
The explorers eventually found El Dorado, it is still there in the Jungles of South America, although it's not a city of gold, a golden idol, or even a golden man as it is often identified with. Some families in Spain and other parts of Europe know that El Dorado is neither of those things, even thought some historians claim otherwise. The native tribes of South America enjoyed and valued gold however there was a more precious substance that they also identified with gold and often called the "Golden One" or the "Golden Teacher", which was nothing more than psychedelic mushrooms identified as Psilocybe cubensis (some strains are still called the Golden Teacher to this day).

The first clear (written) record comes from the Spanish priest Bernardo de Sahagun who around 1500 gives an account of Aztec `mushroom rituals':

"After a night of fasting where only a bit of cacao was taken, they ate, still before sunrise, mushrooms with honey. When the first signs showed (which can be compared to drunkenness with hallucinations) everyone started dancing and singing, while others were weeping. At the end of the ritual everyone gathered to share their visions."
These mushrooms were sacred to the natives and were often used by the shaman and the rest of the community as a Communion (in a similar fashion to the Catholic Church), this angered the conquistadors so much that they nearly wiped out all of their written records and idols.
This was nothing new to the Church, they have spent years destroying and stumping out all pagan, Gnostic, and Kabbalistic traditions associated with the use of Sacred Mushrooms, whose use was prevalent in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Russia, Asia and indeed all over the world. With time the sacrament became just a wafer...

Truth has always been concealed for power, money, etc...
Be carefully, the more truth is shed the more those who live a lie will try to control the narrative to fit their agendas, just like it has been done for thousands of years before...
"Old writings thought to contain secrets of the healing arts came to be highly prized. Josephus, in the first Christian century, says of the Jewish sect called the Essenes that they display "an
extraordinary interest in the writings of the ancients, singling out in particular those which make for the welfare of the soul and body; with the help of these, and with a view to the treatment of
diseases, they investigate medicinal roots and the properties of stones". Such writings were often ascribed popularly to Solomon, credited in the Bible with knowledge of "trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon, to the hyssop that grows out of the wall" (I Kings 4:33 [Heb 5:13])."

One of the biggest lies of history is that the "pagans" or "heathens" believed and worshipped in many gods, althought nothing could be further from the truth, because most of the worlds spiritual beliefs are traced back into Shamanism, which at its core is itself monotheistic!

Ancient Egyptians themselves believed in the existance of one God who has created everything, and the cosmic forcess and energies at play in the universe were latter personified.

When the textbooks say that Akhenaten "tried to bring about a departure from traditional religion", they are misslabeling the true traditional religion of Egypt (wich began with one God "Atum" aka "The Hidden Light"), with a backwards understanding that ancient man was a primitive barbaric creature who worshipped physical gods prior to Christianity.

"After his death, his monuments were dismantled and hidden, his statues were destroyed and his name was not to be included in the king lists."

...Just like Akhenaten there is Moses, who kept his splinter religion strictly                                                                                                        like a Mystery School (with an inner circle of priests who have always taught                                                                                                  a two sided doctrine, much like Jesus himself).

Likewise in India, just like the Siberian Shaman, the ancient priests favored Amanita Muscaria over the Psilocibe Cubensis mushrooms, and considered the later inferior mostly due to the fact that a common peasant farmer was now able to experience the wonders of the Divine Soma.
How where the sacred texts composed in Asia?

Rishi (denotes an inspired poet of Vedic hymns. Post-Vedic tradition of Hinduism regards the Rishis as "seers" or "sages", who after intense meditation (Tapas) realized truths and eternal knowledge, which they composed into hymns.
How did a Rishi become inspired or reach altered states of conciousness?
"O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
-Psalm 34:8

"I came upon the Words of God and I did eat them; and thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart."
-Jeremiah 15:16

Amanita Muscaria when eaten dried or made into a cold-water extract has a flavor very close to Honey; this honey sweet taste is mentioned in the Rig Veda, the Yasna, and the Old and New Testaments. In the quote below the source of this magic honey is a mountain dwelling life form that can suck “honey” out of rock. This life form can also eat a variety of human prepared foods and “drink” grape juice.

"He (God) made him (Soma) ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of flinty rock.
Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats with the fat of kidneys, of wheat: and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape."

-Deuteronomy 32:13-14
"He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat; and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee."
-Psalm 81:16

Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ear’s, but he heareth not.”
-Isaiah 53:1-2

"Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest, eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with them my words."
-Ezekiel 3:1-4

Here we see that the Honey sweet food is closely associated with prophecy and creates the ancient prophets.

"Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath neither form nor comeliness; and when we should see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."
-Isaiah 53:1-2

"For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed themselves out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water."
-Jeremiah 2:13
"So I took the five men, as he commanded me, and we went into the field, and remained there.
And the next day, behold, a voice called me, saying, Esdras, open thy mouth, and drink that I give thee to drink.
Then opened I my mouth, and, behold, he reached me a full cup, which was full as it were with water, but the color of it was like fire.
And I took it, and drank: and when I had drunk of it, my heart uttered understanding, and wisdom grew in my breast, for my spirit strengthened my memory:
And my mouth was opened, and shut no more.
The Highest gave understanding unto the five men, and they wrote the wonderful visions of the night that were told, which they knew not: and they sat forty days, and they wrote in the day, and at night they ate bread.
As for me. I spake in the day, and I held not my tongue by night.
In forty days they wrote two hundred and four books.
And it came to pass, when the forty days were filled, that the Highest spake, saying, The first that thou hast written publish openly, that the worthy and unworthy may read it:
But keep the seventy last, that thou mayest deliver them only to such as be wise among the people:
For in them is the spring of understanding, the fountain of wisdom, and the stream of knowledge.
And I did so."
-2 Esdras Chapter 14
A lot of research has already been done by The Ambrosia Society and Donald E.Teeter connecting the Secret Sacraments with not only Soma but with Alchemy and the Emerald Tablet also, you may participate at:  ambrosiasociety.org/
Most of these “newer” “spiritual” interpretations completely ignore the reality of the Philosophers Stone, which is at the very heart of the Emerald Tablet. Read this short commentary at Sacred-texts Hortulanus Commentary on the Emerald Tablet to learn more about the Philosopher's Stone. There are many similarities between the Medieval Hermetic and Alchemical “Philosophers Stone” and the “living stone” of early Eucharistic Christianity, 1 Peter 2:1-4 “1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious.” This quote states that the “Lord” can be “tasted” that it is a “living stone” “disallowed by men” but “chosen” by “God” and “precious”, not suprisingly these lines are almost never quoted by modern Christian Churchs.
Below is a version created by Donald E. Teeter by taking the Emerald Tablet's various English translations and choosing the clearest line of the various translations and rebuilding the Emerald Tablet up line by line. Where the translations used the word “it” at the beginning of a sentence, “the Stone”, “the Philosophers Stone”, or “our Stone” was substituted for easier reading and understanding. Photos were added to further illuminate the Emerald Tablet's meaning.

1. These words are True, concerning the Stone of the Philosophers.
2. What rises above, comes from that left below, and what is below comes from the above, to work the miracle of creation of the One Stone.
3. All things originated from the Philosophers Stone by a single process.

4. The Stone’s Father is the Sun, its Mother is the Moon.
5. The Wind carried the Stone in its womb, the Earth breast fed it.
6. The Stone is the Father of all ‘works of wonder' in the world,
its power is complete.

7. With the color of Fire and ashes, our Stone comes up from the earth,
You must separate the earth from the Stone, the precious from the gross, gently with great industry.

8. The Stone, arises from the earth and descends from heaven;
thus it gathers to itself the strength of all things above and all things below.
9. Thus when you have the Philosophers Stone, the light of lights,
the darkness of ignorance will flee away from you.
10. In the Stone is power, strong with the strength of all power,
for the Stone will penetrate all mysteries and dispel all ignorance.

11. Thus, was the world of Man created.
12. In the future wonderful developments will be made,
and the Philosophers Stone, is the Way.
13. I am Hermes the Threefold Sage,
so named because I hold the three elements of all Wisdom,
the Animal, the Mineral and the Vegetable.

Various texts on Religion and Alchemy are just overglorified Magic Mushroom Grower Guides and Cookbooks, and you would not have the "eyes to see" or "ears to hear" unless you were directly taught these stages or had the key (which was usually concealed in the stages themselves).

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
According to shaman legends the shaman uses a World Tree (Axis Mundi) to travel between worlds.
The axis mundi (also cosmic axis, world axis, world pillar, center of the world, world tree), in certain beliefs and philosophies, is the world center, or the connection between Heaven and Earth. As the celestial pole and geographic pole, it expresses a point of connection between sky and earth where the four compass directions meet. At this point travel and correspondence is made between higher and lower realms. Communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all. The spot functions as the omphalos (navel), the world's point of beginning.
The image relates to the center of the earth (perhaps like an umbilical providing nourishment)[citation needed]. It may have the form of a natural object (a mountain, a tree, a vine, a stalk, a column of smoke or fire) or a product of human manufacture (a staff, a tower, a ladder, a staircase, a maypole, a cross, a steeple, a rope, a totem pole, a pillar, a spire). Its proximity to heaven may carry implications that are chiefly religious (pagoda, temple mount, minaret, church) or secular (obelisk, lighthouse, rocket, skyscraper). The image appears in religious and secular contexts. The axis mundi symbol may be found in cultures utilizing shamanic practices or animist belief systems, in major world religions, and in technologically advanced "urban centers". In Mircea Eliade's opinion, "Every Microcosm, every inhabited region, has a Centre; that is to say, a place that is sacred above all." The axis mundi is often associated with mandalas.
The Mayan believed heaven to be a wonderful, magical place on Earth hidden by a mystical mountain.  They called this place Tamoanchan.  Heaven, Earth, and Underworld (Xibalba) were connected by the ‘world tree’.  The world tree grew at the locus of creation, all things flowing out from that spot into four directions.  These were: East associated with red, North represented by white, West that is black and South that is yellow.  The Mayan tree of life is a cross with its centre being the point of ‘absolute beginning’, the source of all creation and its branches passing through each of the three layers of existence - underworld, earth, and the sky.

The oldest name of Babylon, Tin-tir-ki, meant ‘the place of the tree of life’.  To the Babylonians, it was a tree with magical fruit, which could only be picked by the gods.  The earlier Sumerian traditions played a major role in Babylonian culture.  The early Sumerian art (around 2500 BC) depicts pictures of a pole or a tree called the ‘axis mundi’.  Guarding this tree is a snake or a pair of intertwined snakes.  Babylonians have the concept of the ‘navel of the world’, the place of the connection of different spheres.  This vertical dimension, axis mundi, is the connection between three cosmic spheres: heaven, earth and underworld.  The sacred mountain, the temple, the sacred city are all considered to be this Sacred Space, the axis mundi, the connection of the three cosmic dimensions.

Assyrians substituted the tree for the caduceus with coiled snakes circling around the wood of the wand.  Here we see a snake symbolising an underworld consciousness, passing through earth, climbing a stick, transcends to a winged reality, a heavenly creature.  Wings on a wand became a symbol of transformation and transcendence.

In Egyptian mythology, the first couple are Isis and Osiris who have emerged from the Tree of Life.  Egyptians considered the Tree of Life to be the tree in which life and death are enclosed.  The direction East was associated with the direction of Life, the direction of the rising Sun, and the direction West was seen as the direction of death, of under-world, because Sun sets in the West.  Egyptian creation myths refer to a serpent and a primordial egg, which contained a bird of light.

Within the Nordic cultures we also find a Tree of Life called Yggdrasil.  It is a massive holy ash tree where Gods assemble daily.  the tree provides a magical springwater of knowledge.  An eagle is on the top of the tree and a serpent is coiled around the roots of the tree.  The eagle and the snake hate each other.
On the top of the above tree is the symbol of Thor, the eagle.  The dogs guarding the Tree emulate the guardian lions depicted in Byzantine works.

In Chinese mythology a Taoist story tells us of a magical tree that produces a fruit every three thousand years. The one who eats the fruit becomes immortal.  At the base of the Tree of Life is a dragon, and at the top is a phoenix (a bird).  In Chinese cosmology, there are four Dragon Kings (Qin, Kuang, Jun and Xun), each with his own elemental domain.

"And I will with the women and the holy maidens go
Where they keep the nightly vigil, an auspicious light to show."
(The Frogs 442-443)

"You reach the central hall under the trees.
Near the god (Osiris) You arrive
(the god) who sleeps in his tomb.
His venerable image
rests on his funerary bed.
(Then), in the holy place,
you are accorded (the title) :
Maakheru !
Your body is purified
in Ra-Anedjeti
your whole flesh is purified
in the basin of Heket."
 -Papyrus Leiden

"But their procedure is like Bacchic frenzy - like the leap of a man mad, or possessed - the attainment of a goal without running the race, a passing beyond reason without the previous exercise of reasoning. For the sacred matter (contemplation) is not like attention belonging to knowledge, or an outlet of mind, nor is it like one thing in one place and another in another. On the contrary - to compare small and greater - it is like Aristotle's view that men being initiated have not a lesson to learn, but an experience to undergo and a condition into which they must be brought, while they are becoming fit (for revelation)."
(Synesius Dio 1133)

"Within this hall, the mystics were made to experience the most bloodcurdling sensations of horror and the most enthusiastic ecstasy of joy."
-Aristeides
"For, in your mysteries, what the boy who attends the altar accomplishes, by performing accurately what he is commanded to do, in order to render the gods propitious to all those who have been initiated, as far as to muesis, that, in nations and cities, priests are able to effect, by sacrificing for all the people, and through piety inducing the Gods to be attentive to the welfare of those that belong to them."
-Porphyry
"Dreamtime (also dream time, dream-time) is a term devised by early anthropologists to refer to a religio-cultural worldview attributed to Australian Aboriginal beliefs. It was originally used by Francis Gillen, quickly adopted by his colleague Baldwin Spencer and thereafter popularised by A. P. Elkin, who, however, later revised his views. The Dreaming is used to represent many Aboriginal concepts of "time out of time," or "everywhen," when the land was inhabited by ancestral figures, often of heroic proportions or with supernatural abilities. They were often distinct from "gods" as they did not control the material world and were not worshipped, but only revered."
"to die, that is to be initiated"
-Plato

"Thus death and initiation closely correspond; even the words (teleutan and teleisthai) correspond, and so do the things. At first there are wanderings, and toilsome running about in circles and journeys through the dark over uncertain roads and culs de sac ; then, just before the end, there are all kinds of terrors, with shivering, trembling, sweating, and utter amazement. After this, a strange and wonderful light meets the wanderer; he is admitted into clean and verdant meadows, where he discerns gentle voices, and choric dances, and the majesty of holy sounds and sacred visions. Here the now fully initiated is free, and walks at liberty like a crowned and dedicated victim, joining in the revelry; he is the companion of pure and holy men, and looks down upon the uninitiated and unpurified crowd here below in the mud and fog, trampling itself down and crowded together, though of death remaining still sunk in its evils, unable to believe in the blessings that lie beyond. That the wedding and close union of the soul with the body is a thing really contrary to nature may clearly be seen from all this."
(Grant, F. C. Hellenistic Religions p. 148)
"Demeter, greatly hail! Lady of much bounty, of many measures of corn." As the basket comes, from the ground you shall see it, you uninitiated, and gaze not from the roof or from aloft - child nor wife nor maid that has shed her hair - neither then nor when we spit from parched mouths fasting."
(To Demeter 1-5)

"I fasted, I drank the draught (kykeon)."
-Clement of Alexandria
"Crowned with myrtle, along with the other initiates we enter the entrance hall of the temple, still blind, but the hierophant who is within will soon open our eyes. But first, for nothing is to be done in haste, let us wash in the holy water. We are led before the hierophant. From a book of stone, he reads to us things which we must not divulge, under penalty of death. Let us say only that they are in harmony with the place and circumstance. You would laugh, perhaps, if you heard them outside the temple, but here you have no desire to laugh as you listen to the words of the elder (for he is always old) and as you look at the exposed symbols. And you are far from laughing when, by her special language and signs, by vivid sparkling of light and clouds piled upon clouds, Demeter confirms everything that we have seen and heard from her holy priest. Then, finally, the light of a serene wonder fills the temple; we see the pure Elysian fields; we hear the chorus of the blessed ones. Now it is not merely through an external appearance or through a philosophical interpretation, but in fact and in reality that the hierophant becomes the creator and the revelator of all things; the sun is but his torchbearer, the moon, his helper of the altar, and Hermes, his mystical messenger. But the last word has been uttered: Knox Om Pax.
The ritual has been consummated, and we are seers forever."
(Schuré, Edouard The Great Initiates p. 406)

"In all the initiations and Mysteries the gods manifest themselves in many forms, assuming a great variety of guises; sometimes they appear in a formless light, again in quite different form."
(The Great Initiates p. 407)

Beings of light similar to angels encountered during aboriginal dreamtime.
"The Eleusinian Mysteries were related to the gods and to the Oracles. They were renouned for their purity and decorum. They had a good effect on the morality of the people. The Greek law protected the Eleusinian Mysteries. Part of their program was a sort of morality play. Criminals upon proper approbation could be absolved from their crimes. They could be restored to their former places in society. It was not unlike the restoration of the backslider in the present day Christian religion."
-Henry Binkley Stein

Many now try to dismiss ancient shamanic traditions and legends by claiming that ancient cave paintings are "Ancient Aliens" or other such nonesense.
                                                                                                                                                                                                               ...other dimensional beings...
"These sacred mysteries were the same amongst the priests of the Maya...the Druids, and the priests of Egypt, and the same as we practice."
-Albert Churchward

"If this inner doctrine were always concealed from the masses, for whom a simpler code had been devised, is it not highly probable that the exponents of every aspect of modern civilization--philosophic, ethical, religious, and scientific-are ignorant of the true meaning of the very theories and tenets on which their beliefs are founded? Do the arts and sciences that the race has inherited from older nations conceal beneath their fair exterior a mystery so great that only the most illumined intellect can grasp its import? Such is undoubtedly the case."
-Manly P. Hall
"The preeminence of any philosophical system can be determined only by the excellence of its products. The Mysteries have demonstrated the superiority of their culture by giving to the world minds of such overwhelming greatness, souls of such beatific vision, and lives of such outstanding impeccability that even after the lapse of ages the teachings of these individuals constitute the present spiritual, intellectual, and ethical standards of the race. The initiates of the various Mystery schools of past ages form a veritable golden chain of supermen and superwomen connecting heaven and earth. They are the links of that Homeric "golden chain" with which Zeus boasted he could bind the several parts of the universe to the pinnacle of Olympus. The sons and daughters of Isis are indeed an illustrious line--founders of sciences and philosophies, patrons of arts and crafts, supporting by the transcendency of their divinely given power the structures of world religions erected to do them homage. Founders of doctrines which have molded the lives of uncounted generations, these Initiate-Teachers bear witness to that spiritual culture which has always existed--and always will exist--as a divine institution in the world of men."
-Manly P. Hall

"There was a time when with the rest of the happy band they saw beauty shining in brightness, - we philosophers following in the train of Zeus, others in company with other gods; and then we beheld the beatific vision and were initiated into a mystery which may be truly called most bleed, celebrated by us in our state of innocence before we had any experience of evils to come, when we were admitted to the sight of apparitions innocent and simple and calm and happy, which we beheld shining in pure light."
-Socrates' mystic vision of initiation from Plato's Phaedrus
"I am a priest knowledgable of the mystery,
who's chest never lets go what he has seen !"
Chassinat

"The soul of man--often called Psyche, and in the Eleusinian Mysteries symbolized by Persephone--is essentially a spiritual thing. Its true home is in the higher worlds, where, free from the bondage of material form and material concepts, it is said to be truly alive and self-expressive. The human, or physical, nature of man, according to this doctrine, is a tomb, a quagmire, a false and impermanent thing, the source of all sorrow and suffering. Plato describes the body as the sepulcher of the soul; and by this he means not only the human form but also the human nature.
The gloom and depression of the Lesser Mysteries represented the agony of the spiritual soul unable to express itself because it has accepted the limitations and illusions of the human environment. The crux of the Eleusinian argument was that man is neither better nor wiser after death than during life. If he does not rise above ignorance during his sojourn here, man goes at death into eternity to wander about forever, making the same mistakes which he made here. If he does not outgrow the desire for material possessions here, he will carry it with him into the invisible world, where, because he can never gratify the desire, he will continue in endless agony...
...Those who made no endeavor to improve themselves (whose souls have slept) during their physical lives, passed at death into Hades, where, lying in rows, they slept through all eternity as they had slept through life.
To the Eleusinian philosophers, birch into the physical world was death in the fullest sense of the word, and the only true birth was that of the spiritual soul of man rising out of the womb of his own fleshly nature."
-Manly P Hal

"As for him who knows this chapter, he will be a worthy spirit in the domain of god, and he will not die again in the realm of the dead, and he will eat in the presence of Osiris. As for him who knows it on Earth, he will be like Thoth, he will be worshipped by the living, he will not fall to the power of the king or the hot rage of Bastet, and he will proceed to a very happy old age."

"Here begin the praises and glorifications, going out and in the domain of god, having benefit in the beautiful West, coming our by day, taking any shape he likes, playing at Senet, sitting in a booth, and coming out as a living soul. After he has arrived in port, Osiris, the scribe Ani, said :

"It is beneficial to him
who does it on Earth.""

-Book of the Dead

"I was presented before the god, being an excellent young man while I was introduced into the horizon of heaven (...) I emerged from Nun, and I was purified of what ill had been in me ; I removed my clothing and ointments, as Horus and Seth were purified. I advanced before the god in the holy of holies, filled with fear before his power."
-Sauneron

"It isn’t a fruit or vegetable, it isn’t a fiber, and it certainly isn’t a protein. Then what is a mushroom?
Other than the mouthwatering anticipation with which chefs and foragers harvest morels or golden chanterelles from the Gallatin Valley each year, or prized truffles from France or Italy, most of us don’t often give the mushroom the same attention as local beef, trout, or fresh produce.
Classified as fungi, mushrooms are referred to as hidden kingdoms unto themselves. They have a symbiotic relationship with plants, animals, and other fungi, as well as a parasitic one.
The study of mushrooms is called mycology, which differs from the disciplines of biology and botany. And while you may never think about the white buttons in the blue Styrofoam in the produce section, they just may be the most unique food you’ll ever eat.

Most of us believe the round, colorful structure we see growing above ground to be the whole mushroom, when in fact that is merely the “fruit” of a much larger organism living underground made up of connected filaments called mycelium.
Modern day scientists say that mushrooms are more closely related to animals than plants, the primary reasons being they “breathe” oxygen and “exhale” carbon dioxide like humans, rather than the reverse in the plant world. And mushrooms contain no chlorophyll.
The late ethnobotanist Terence McKenna suggested that mushrooms are responsible for human intelligence as we know it. His theory hypothesized that mushroom spores possess all of the necessary requirements to travel on space currents. Furthermore, they could have settled in the brain matter of primitive humanoids and, following the lines of modern day hallucinogenic mushrooms, directly contributed to our modern day intelligence and self awareness.
McKenna went on to theorize that mushrooms are the reason there is human life on earth.
While this may seem like material from a science fiction novel, there is no avoiding the fact that mushrooms possess many traits that are unique to their kingdom alone.
Fungi build cell walls out of chitin, the same material that makes up the hard outer shells of insects and other arthropods. These cell walls contain similar chemicals found in butterfly and beetle wings, as well as the plumage of some colorful birds, such as peacocks.
Living spores have been found and collected in every level of earth’s atmosphere. Mushroom spores are electron-dense and can survive in the vacuum of space. Additionally, their outer layer is actually metallic and of a purple hue, which naturally allows the spore to deflect ultraviolet light. And as if all this wasn’t unique enough, the outer shell of the spore is the hardest organic compound to exist in nature.
Who knows, maybe I’ll look to the stars the next time I enjoy a fresh, sautéed Crimini mushroom with a glass of Nebbiolo in hopes of seeing a mushroom-shaped constellation."

"We have drunk Soma and become immortal; we have attained the light, the Gods discovered. Now what may a foeman’s malice do to harm us? What, O Immortal, a mortal mans deception?"
-Rig Veda
"For there went forth a stream, and it became a river great and broad; indeed it carried away everything, and it shattered and brought it to the Temple.
And the barriers which were built by men were not able to restrain it, nor even the arts of them who habitually restrain water.
For it spread over the surface of all the earth, and it filled everything.
Then all the thirsty upon the earth drank, and thirst was relieved and quenched;
For from the Most High the drink was given.
Blessed, therefore, are the ministers of that drink, who have been entrusted with His water.
They have refreshed the parched lips, and have aroused the paralyzed will.
Even living persons who were about to expire, they have held back from death.
And limbs which have collapsed, they have restored and set up.
They gave strength for their coming, and light for their eyes.
Because everyone recognized them as the Lord's, and lived by the living water of eternity.”

...

"From the beginning until the end I received His knowledge.
And I was established upon the rock of truth, where He had set me.
And speaking waters touched my lips from the fountain of the Lord generously.
And so I drank and became intoxicated, from the living water that does not die*.
And my intoxication did not cause ignorance, but I abandoned vanity,
And turned toward the Most High, my God, and was enriched by His favors.
And I rejected the folly cast upon the earth, and stripped it off and cast it from me.
And the Lord renewed me with His garment, and possessed me by His light.
And from above He gave me immortal rest, and I became like the land that blossoms and rejoices in its fruits."

...

"Fill for yourselves water from the living fountain of the Lord, because it has been opened for you.
And come all you thirsty and take a drink, and rest beside the fountain of the Lord.
Because it is pleasing and sparkling, and perpetually refreshes the self.
For much sweeter is its water than honey, and the honeycomb of bees is not to be compared with it;
Because it flowed from the lips of the Lord, and it named from the heart of the Lord.
And it came boundless and invisible, and until it was set in the middle they knew it not.
Blessed are they who have drunk from it, and have refreshed themselves by it."

-Ode of Solomon
"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
